Andrew Garfield takes the role from the previous 3 time Spidey – Tobey Maguire. We have seen Garfield recently in 'The Social Network', playing co-founder of Facebook with Jesse Eisenberg's Mark Zuckerberg.
"Though his name may be new to many, those who know this young actor's work understand his extraordinary talents," director Marc Webb, who is working with the movie company to relaunch the Spider-Man movie franchise, said of Garfield in the statement. "He has a rare combination of intelligence, wit, and humanity. Mark my words, you will love Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker."
Garfield reportedly beat out a long list of hot young actors vying for the role, including The Kids Are Alright's Josh Hutcherson.
