Recently we heard the competition between the two actively developing Snow White projects was heating up after Universal decided to move their Snow White and the Huntsman from its December 2012 release date to June 1st, 2012, putting it in theaters almost an entire month before Relativity Media's own Snow White tale from Tarsem Singh. Now THR says the untitled film formerly known as The Brothers Grimm: Snow White has decided to strike back by moving their release date to March 16th, 2012, and I seriously doubt Universal will be able to top that. In addition, the cast for the seven dwarves has also been revealed.
Though their names aren't immediately recognizable, the actors taking the roles have been seen in plenty of big movies. Mark Povinelli (Water for Elephants), Jordan Prentice (Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle), Danny Woodburn (Watchmen), Sebastian Saraceno (Bedtime Stories), Ronald Lee Clark (Epic Movie), Martin Klebba (Hancock) and Joey Gnoffo (Pirates of the Caribbean) will play the seven dwarves, but it's still not clear just how they feature into the story other than the fact that they're referenced as "seven resourceful rebels" in the official synopsis. The seven actors join Julia Roberts, Lily Collins, Armie Hammer and Nathan Lane in a film that hopefully won't suffer because of the race to the 2012 finish line in theaters or because movies like The Hunger Games are being released around the same time.
