LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is heading back to the big screen, this time in 3D.
John Luessenhop ("Takers") is in talks to direct the latest depiction of the chainsaw wielding killer Leatherface and his family of cannibals. Production is slated to begin in June. Lionsgate will distribute in North America.
The original "Chainsaw," directed in 1974 by Tobe Hooper, is considered a landmark entry in the horror genre. A 2003 reboot grossed $80 million and yielded a 2006 prequel, which grossed half of that.
