No kicking 'Panda' off top of overseas chart

LOS ANGELES – Kids and families in the international movie marketplace continue to embrace "Kung Fu Panda 2," giving it another weekend at the top of the overseas box office charts with an estimated $52.5 million for the weekend and $423.3 million overall. The global appeal of the film combined with the current foreign love affair with 3-D has made this one very popular "Panda."
"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" has been ruthless in its accumulation of international booty, with Capt. Jack and friends stealing a healthy $25.9 million over the weekend and amassing a global total of $952.2 million to date — about two weeks shy of $1 billion.
Debuting internationally in fifth place is "Green Lantern," the latest in a barrage of summer superhero movies. The Ryan Reynolds starrer pulled in $16 million overseas for a global total of $69.1 million to give the film a respectable start built on the foundation of its first-place North American opening weekend.
