Lindsay Lohan's First Night Out Results in Paparazzi Frenzy

As of Wednesday, Lindsay Lohan is a free woman, but from the looks of her first night out after her house arrest, she might be better off staying inside.

Just days shy of her 25th birthday, Lohan did what any twenty-something who's been cooped up in a Santa Monica beach house would do: go out for a night on the town.

According to TMZ, actor Emile Hirsch and 'Nikita' star Lyndsy Fonseca joined the platinum-blonde starlet, among other friends, at Lexington Social House for a relaxing evening.

But a low-key night out is just not in the cards for this troubled starlet these days.

In paparazzi land, what Lohan did or didn't do in the club is of little importance since there's no photographic evidence -- her assistant reportedly brought her sodas while she chain-smoked all night, but where's the story in that?

It's in the few seconds between the VIP exit and her black SUV that the waiting throng of photographers wait hours for -- the time they hope to get their so-called "money shot." And Lohan gave the flashing crowd exactly what they wanted so badly last night, especially since it was their first glimpse of the star since she was grounded by the court.

She stumbled. She turned her ankle ever so slightly on the curb, with hundreds of flashing cameras no doubt blinding her. And of course every nanosecond was caught on film, with someone even yelling out, "She's drunk!"

Attention-grabbing headlines like "Lindsay Lohan Collapses Outside Hollywood Club!" and "Lindsay Parties After House Arrest" popped up this morning, with accompanying paparazzi videos showing the overwhelmed actress attempting to get into her car with her friends.

Less than 24 hours since completing her house arrest and she's already getting pummeled in the press. We're not saying she hasn't made mistakes in the past -- trust us, we know -- but let's at least give Lohan a chance to get on the straight and narrow before we tear her down again.

Lohan took to Twitter Thursday to fire back at her critics, writing, "Of course me going to my best friends going away dinner is a headline- especially on my first day out of my house in 35 days. That does not give anyone the right to have a field day and manifest stories. IT WAS A GOING AWAY DINNER, THAT WAS IT. Nothing exciting happened aside from the very yummy hummus and pita."

She also addressed the rumors that she fell outside the club.

"If anyone caused me to nearly fall it was the pyschotic paparazzi," she wrote.
