Swedish director eyes modern-day Jekyll/Hyde story

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap) - Swedish filmmaker Mikael Hafstrom, whose Hollywood credits include "The Rite" and "1408," will direct the indie sociopath thriller "Wake." The film is about "a modern day Jekyll and Hyde who knows no bounds" -- and no fear, producer Hammer Films said Wednesday.

"The Rite," a supernatural thriller starring Anthony Hopkins, grossed about $96 million worldwide earlier this year despite overwhelming critical venom.
