'T3' again crunches best numbers overseas

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Topping both the North American and international box office charts for the second straight weekend, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" is advancing toward $700 million at the worldwide box office.
Michael Bay's demolition derby in 3-D added another $93 million from a whopping 9,926 locations in 59 international markets, crossing the $645 million mark after just two weekends of release. IMAX drew $3.7 million for the weekend, which puts the giant screen total at $15.6 million after just 12 days in 105 international locations.
"Cars 2" raced to second place overseas in its third weekend of release with $26.9 million in 27 territories and a global total of $270.4 million. This included a No. 1 debut in Argentina and a weekend that propelled "Cars 2" to the milestone of becoming the biggest Pixar release ever in Russia with $18.4 million to date.
Third place goes to "Kung Fu Panda," which has played to an admiring international audience for nearly two months. It earned $14.3 million for the weekend in 57 international territories, boosting the film's overseas revenues to over the $400 million mark and its global total to an impressive $563 million.
