After dealing with some personal issues, Arnold Schwarzenegger is already slated to return to the big screen with The Last Stand, the English language debut of director Jee-woon Kim and also a recently confirmed substantial role in The Expendables 2. Now Deadline says the action star has lined up yet another project in the form Captive, of a new indie action thriller from writer Benjamin van der Veen and a story by Nicolai Fuglsig. Schwarzenegger wouldn't exactly be a big time action hero in this film as the story sees him playing an American real estate magnate living in Brazil who is kidnapped and held for ransom.

But while the man is frantically searching for a way out of the armored truck in which he's being held within a Sao Paolo landfill, a detective specializing in kidnap and ransom cases works to find him. Seems to have flares of Buried but without the difficult task of setting the whole film inside a coffin underground. Honestly, as interested as I am to see Schwarzenegger getting back to action oriented dramas like this or straight-up action films like The Expendables sequel, I'd like to see him take on another comedy like his glory days in films like Kindergarten Cop. Hopefully that happens sooner than later.
