Extended "Rings" Trilogy Hits Blu June 28th

Warner Bros. Pictures has now confirmed a June 28th release date for the Blu-ray "Lord of the Rings Trilogy: Limited Extended Edition" boxset.
When the previous theatrical editions were released on Blu, "The Fellowship of the Ring" scored poor reviews for its transfer which was likely taken from an old master. As a result, this version "has been remastered from the original 2k digital files". The same restoration will not be performed on the other two films though all will get 6.1 DTS-HD Master Audio tracks.
This three-movie collection will be presented in a 15-disc set. The films will be spread across two Blu-rays each, and each title will get three DVDs of supplements - essentially the same discs from the previous DVD releases of the trilogy.
