Adele reigns on U.S. singles chart; Coldplay debuts

NEW YORK (Billboard) – Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" claimed a fifth week at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart Wednesday, while Coldplay's "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall" charged in as the top new entry at No. 29.
Pitbull's "Give Me Everything," featuring Ne-Yo, AfroJack and Nayer, held at No. 2, and Katy Perry's "E.T.," featuring Kanye West, at No. 3. Bruno Mars' "The Lazy Song" jumped two to No. 4; Jennifer Lopez's "On the Floor," featuring Pitbull, slipped one to No. 5.
Coldplay's "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall," an advance track from its upcoming album, is the British band's sixth top 40 hit. Its highest-peaking chart entry, "Viva La Vida," began a three-week reign at No. 1 this week in 2008.
Other notable Hot 100 debuts included Pitbull's "International Love," featuring Chris Brown, at No. 59; Beyonce's "Best Thing I Never Had" at No. 84; and Linkin Park's "Iridescent" at No. 86.
