Jim Carrey Hints at 'Dumb & Dumber' and 'Bruce Almighty' Sequels

Source: ComingSoon
Well suck me sideways!" Actor Jim Carrey is still on a roll with comedies, with Mr. Popper's Penguins set to hit theaters this month and likely make a boatload at the box office. But word is he may revisit some old characters from 1994/2003 in potential sequels. Unlike the trouble Ben Stiller's had in getting Zoolander 2 ready, Carrey recently told ComingSoon that new sequels to Dumb & Dumber and Bruce Almighty are already in the works, but there's nothing major to report on yet. Though each film got its own pseudo-sequel already (the former's being a crappy prequel), the originals are still the fan-favorites. Read on for his quote.

"We're talking about maybe returning to some old characters that everyone has been asking about," Carrey teased when asked what he might follow Penguins with, "...There's 'Bruce Almighty' and we're talking about maybe another 'Dumb and Dumber.'"
That's all he says, which isn't much, so we'll have to wait to hear about how far into development either of them are. However, SlashFilm links to a quote from Bobby Farrelly earlier this year on Moviehole, where he talks about a Dumb & Dumber sequel: "If we could get those two guys back together, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels that might be a worthwhile sequel – and that ball is in motion. We're starting to think about what those two dimwits would be doing twenty-years later in life, and hopefully we'll be able to come up with something worthy of a sequel."
