LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Filmmaker Tom McCarthy ("The Visitor") has been hired to write "Home Movies," a supernatural family comedy set up at DreamWorks.
The project centers on a man who is able to revisit certain moments in his life through his home movies and change things. The idea was originally hatched inside the studio and Jared Stern ("Mr. Popper's Penguins") was the original writer.
McCarthy wrote and directed the acclaimed films "The Station Agent" and "The Visitor." He is currently in theaters with "Win-Win," a family drama starring Paul Giamatti.
