Over the weekend a rumor started circulating of an exciting new addition to the cast of Ridley Scott's next sci-fi project Prometheus, which may or not be a prequel to Alien. It was CHUD who heard from an reader e-mail that Guy Pearce (The King's Speech, Memento) had landed a role in the high profile film, and now The Playlist has confirmed that the British actor will indeed appear in the sci-fi film. Though details on his character have not been revealed at this time, his addition to the cast is exciting. Production is already underway, so hopefully some details (though we don't want to spoil anything) will start showing up online.
Recently Michael Fassbender, who plays an android in the film was talking about how amazing being on Scott's set for Prometheus has been, "I walk on the set and I feel like I'm walking on a spaceship. It's breathtaking." The rest of the cast, which includes Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba and more, are likely having the experience of their lives as well. Filming will continue for the next five months and we'll see Prometheus hit theaters on June 8th, 2012.
