Don Scardino to Direct 'Burt Wonderstone' Comedy with Steve Carell

Source: Deadline
Back in February, we heard that television director Charles McDougall, who had helmed several episodes of "The Office" on NBC, would make his feature directorial debut with the magician comedy Burt Wonderstone starring Steve Carell. However, in April we exclusively learned that negotiations had broken down with McDougall and a new director was being sought. Now Deadline has word that Don Scardino, who also has a background in TV direction by helming episodes of "30 Rock," with be the one making his feature directorial debut with the new comedy. Always good to have another comedy director around.

For those just joining us, the story follows Carell as a magic man dethroned by a younger, hipper illusionist and then must find a way to rediscover his love for magic. John Francis Daley (who starred in "Freaks and Geeks" as a child actor) and writing partner Jonathan Goldstein are behind the script, and you'll see just how good they are on the page when Horrible Bosses, which the duo also wrote, hits theaters this summer.
